The site is a relatively small site and includes two general paths along tarred roads that birders often take. One goes up to a water tank, and the other goes along a relatively flat stretch that has been cordoned off to cars and which only pedestrians and cyclists can use.

The session began with a briefing by trip leader Arhwin and committee member Andy. We then went up the route to the water tank and down to the cordoned off tar road. However, after perhaps a quarter of that route, we were told to exit the area by the authorities. Unfortunately, on the day of the trip, this stretch was closed to the public at a certain time due to an operation by the local council and the department of wildlife and national parks, presumably due to the high primate population leading to human-wildlife conflict with local residents and visitors. This led us to walk up to the Menara Mutiara Condominium and back to the carpark to do our shared eBird checklist and conclude the trip.

Despite the hiccup, it was a good trip with a total of 30 species. Some of the trip highlights include the Rufous-bellied Eagle, Spectacled Spiderhunter, Gold-whiskered Barbet, Banded Woodpecker and Verditer Flycatcher. The Rufous-bellied Eagle appeared as we were concluding our checklist, just in time to be added to our species count.
